Julie Spiegler started paragliding in 1990. After 20 years of flying, she discovered that she liked flying cross-country (XC). She also discovered she likes the “happy noise” her flight instrument makes when you reach a waypoint (while flying a task), and having a declared goal seems to engage her dogged determination gene. So in 2012 she flew in her first paragliding competition. In 2013 she flew in a couple more, finishing first for all women in both the Rat Race Sprint and Open Distance Nationals.

In 2012 Julie also decided to start creating films about women who fly. And the rest is History
